Are You A Bookworm?

I wish I am. But unfortunately I like to read from the screen instead of from a book, because very few books could actually keep me interested long enough to finish them. The last book I read was Dan Brown's "The Lost Symbol".

That's the UK cover by the way, I only read UK books. :P Even my Harry Potters and other books are UK versions. Anyways, I think I finished the book ages ago, about two months after it's release. Haven't touched a book yet after that.

I wonder if reading a lot from the screen would still consider a bookworm? I like to read, just not from a book. So am I a screenworm?

Ahaha. In any case, I guess I should get back to the main point. Having made so many bracelets, numerous pairs of earrings and several necklaces later, I realized I haven't made any bookmarks in a while. So I decided, what the heck, I should dedicate the whole week to making bookmarks, since they were the ones who started me on this journey of beading anyway. :) So here are 7 bookmarks in total, enjoy!

Title : Snowy Owl
Price : USD12.00

Title : Winter Fishing
Price : USD12.00

Title : Humpback Whale
Price : USD12.00

Title : Silver Moon
Price : USD12.00

Title : Sea Treasures
Price : USD12.00

Title : Red Autumn Blooms
Price : USD12.00

Title : Grapes
Price : USD12.00

I had been wanting to do this for a while, but just never got around to. But I am letting people have an option to choose to change the bookmark into a phone strap if they want to. I will do the adjustments as needed before shipping out. Now I just need to get around to editing my old listings and add this bit of information into the description. :)

I hope you had a great weekend!

New Range of Bracelets

Last week I really outdone myself, a 3-day weekend really did good things for my motivation. I made enough items for a total of 13 listings! Although this week I had only done 1 piece so far hahaha. It's because not one, but THREE of the supplies I ordered arrived at once! One via plane (air mail), one via ship (surface mail) and one via truck. (domestic mail) The one via surface mail finally arrived after a long one and half month wait and I spent FOREVER sorting everything out. My room is a mess now and I am in desperate need for more storage space.

Anyways, I tried my hands in making a new range of non-cluster bracelets last week, something more simple, scouring over the many variety of materials I have.

Title : Tropical Swirl
Price : USD17.00

I'm not sure how to categorize this type of bracelets aside from being beaded. Am quite fond of the colors actually, the dark teal color with shades of yellow really pops. They are really fun to make if I have enough variety of materials too. I hope/think the pricing is right for these, maybe when I list them in the shop I could ask for opinions in the Etsy forums, hmm.

Title : Iceberg
Price : USD17.00

A friend commented this blue/white bracelet looks very icey, and coincidentally I hung a whale charm on this as well. (which you can't see because it's at the far side of this photo) Hence the name.

I might need to scour some lampwork glass beads from a friend to make more of these bracelets. :D The earrings are next!

Title : Tree Vines
Price : USD14.00

I have some leaf charms, and some vine connectors. It's not difficult to do the math :D Reminds me of tropical rainforests.

Title : Golden Teardrops
Price : USD25.00

I actually really like this one, they are long and gorgeous in shades of gold. Such a luxurious and elegant color!

Title : A Week of Pearls
Price : USD35.00

Something new that I decided to try out. A set of 7 pairs of earrings, one for each day of the week! Each comes with their own sterling silver hooks so you could just pick them and put them on without the hassles of changing the pearls on interchangeable hooks everyday. The pearls are all nickel free. :) Next up, bracelets!

Title : Cold Hearted
Price : USD23.00

For those that are cold hearted! Lol, I'm joking. These are actually really cute, I'm very fond of the color combination. I'm going to make a similar one (without the hearts) for myself because I recently bought a lot of blue colored clothes. This will match perfectly!

Title : Berrilicious Grapes
Price : USD20.00

Inspired by grapes and wine. This really reminds me of vineyards, and when I think of vineyards I am reminded of Sims 3 and the vineyard in France. Perhaps it's because I've never been to a REAL vineyard, hmm... makes me wonder if they are really like the one in Sims 3.

Title : Strawberries and Cream
Price : USD20.00

I was trying to pick out colors that I haven't used for bracelets yet, and that's how I picked the pastel pink pearls. They look so sweet and cute!

Title : Key to Her Heart
Price : USD23.00

Bracelet version of that phone charm I did (and sold) a while ago, because I have so many of those key charms!!

Title : Pastels
Price : USD20.00

Sweet pastel pinks and blues, reminds me of My Little Pony too somehow! Those sweet days of childhood~

Title : Black Beauty
Price : USD12.00

Another horse inspired bookmark. I loooooved the Black Beauty novel when I was little, it is such a sad and beautiful story. I used to love horses and draw them all the time when I was a kid. Not anymore though, I wonder what took the horse loving out of me? :(

Title : I Love Whales
Price : USD9.50

Phone charms! I haven't made these in a while. This one reminds me of a project I did back in college with the 'Save the Humpback Whales' theme. It is still one of my fondest projects, although I don't have a single piece of the project left to show. Oh wells~

Title : You're A Star
Price : USD9.50

I believe everyone is a shining star on their own. Everyone is unique, no one are the same, we are talented at different things. Which then reflects the concept of my store. I normally only make one of each item because I believe that all items should be exclusive to their owners. That and... I don't like making repeat items. It's always more exciting crafting new items and admire the finish product.

Mega Update!

Do you know that McD double burger patty promotion? The Big Mac is called Mega Mac with 4x beef patties, scary I know... my mouth is not even big enough to bite down on it. Anyways, my point is... I kind of missed the weekly creation update last week lol, so I'm going to make up for it by having 2x week's worth of updates today! Items made last week (which most of them are up for sale in my shop already) and items I made this week which I will list gradually over the week. So you're getting a first sneak peek! ;)

First up is the only bookmark I did all this time.

Title : My Little Pony
Price : USD12.00

I first saw this adorable charm on eBay and immediately thought of my friend who loooooves horses. When I saw it in a supply shop I frequent, AND found out that it is double-sided, I got it immediately! It's just sooooo cute!! I used to watch My Little Ponies when I was little, although I don't remember most of the pony's names, but it is still very nostalgic~

Now on to the earrings!

Title : Drops Of Gold
Price : USD30.00

I had been trying to find an excuse to use Czech fire polished glass beads for a while, because I think they are so unique and beautiful. And finally I did! These earrings are so long and gorgeous (7.5cm) and would be perfect for formal events! I still have a lot of those bright yellow round faceted citrines too, courtesy of my mom ahaha.

Title : Purple Dream
Price : USD15.00

A more subtle, purple version of my sold Sparkling Blue earrings. I used some new pearls I acquired that are nickel free, neat! :D

Title : Celtic Blue
Price : USD15.00

My wire-wrapping class mentor Mastura from Whimsical n Quirky made one of those closed spiral thingies during my class 2 weeks ago, and I decided to do something with it. :D So partial credit goes to her~

Title : Whale Spout
Price : USD15.00

I found these quirky little whale charms at the shop where I bought the pony charm too! :D They were double-sided too and quite thick, has a nice weight. (the shop had some really nice new stock this time!) And I decided to get them~ Hey you don't see whale charms all the time right? And I have an affinity to aquatic creatures hehe. These earrings are supposed to emulate the whale spouting.

Can you see it?? Can you??

Title : Black as Night
Price : USD15.00

New experiment on crystal rondelle beads, making that what I would call a 'hamburger belt' in the middle. (I don't know the official term for this!) Took me two tries to get it right, the key is to make very very small loops, but not too small! It needs to be just right.

Title : Blue as the Ocean
Price : USD15.00

Light blue version of the earrings above. These are very shiny and sparkly!

Title : Lavender Pearls
Price : USD15.00

Simple purple dangle earrings. Was experimenting with the middle portion with layering (below the two purple pearls)

Title : Rubies in Ribbons
Price : USD20.00

I bought these pretty teardrop swarovski crystals to practice wire wrapping on, and I think I didn't do too bad for a first try. :D The teardrop crystals are so pretty though! But quite pricey sobs sobs.

8 pairs of earrings! Whooo~ that took me a while, now on to the bracelets!

Title : Woodland
Price : USD20.00

The color combination for this is kind of accidental too, I was picking out colors to restock and placed these three colors together by coincidence. It makes a nice, soft hue~

Title : Calypso's Treasure
Price : USD23.00

This was actually the first bracelet I ever made, note the keyword 'was'? It was my failed first attempt for a bracelet haha, I did not know whether I should make a charm bracelet or a cluster bracelet at that time, not to mention using the wrong chain... I finally got around to take apart that bracelet and made a new one that I dare to show people! I love those swirly beads, I should use them more often :)

Title : Citrus
Price : USD23.00

I was all sneaky sneaky and read up on Etsy's June Merchandising Desk (I'm sure a lot do too!) and realized that in June the trend would be citruses! So I got busy and made this adorable citrus themed bracelet. >u<>

Title : Vampire's Kiss
Price : USD22.00

Following up from the bracelet above, apparently the Twilight Eclipse movie will be premiering in June. Although I don't read nor watch the movies (I'm afraid that I will be staked by some of my writer friends if I do) I thought I should ride along the hype and make something suitable for goths. This color combination was pretty fun actually, maybe I will make another similar one in the future. :) Gotta milk those Twilight fans muwahahahahaha!

Title : White Lily
Price : USD22.00

A (nearly) pure white bracelet suitable for brides and brides maids. I thought I should try making some bridal jewelry to appeal to a broader audience. I added some shinies into the bracelet so it would have more bling as well.

Title : Patriotism
Price : USD20.00

Also inspired by the June Merchandising Desk, red, white and blue will be in trend. I assume because of 4th of July? These colors are based off of the American flag, looks very patriotic, hence the name. I might make another variation in the near future, we'll see. :)

Whoo~ that's all for the mega update! That took me a while, phew~ Remember the giveaway for a FREE bracelet and cobweb earrings by your's truly is still on-going on LisbonSky's blog. 279 comments as we speak!! Wow, I am quite surprised by the outcome. She also mentioned that this is probably the most popular giveaway she had to date, so that makes me pretty happy and proud. :D There are still like... more than 10 days left for the giveaway lol, I wonder what would be the number of entries be when it ends? Sooooo excited!! >u<

New Fruity Bracelets

Thanks for the feedback on the last post, I had decided that I should just stick to what I already have instead of wasting time and energy fussing over old photos. Must concentrate on adding more item!

Here are the new batch of jewelry and stationary I made throughout last week, keeping up with one creation each day.

Title : Fruity Popsicle
Status : Available
Price : USD23.00

I had so much fun with this one! It reminds me of ice cream, the colors on the umbrella of the street side ice cream vendor. Paddle pop ice cream!! I haven't had those in a while.

Title : Kiwi Flower (bracelet)
Status : Available
Price : USD23.00

Like the one above, I tried to add more to the basic pearl cluster bracelets. This one with cute kiwi beads and green flowers. I made a shorter one for myself. (my wrist is super small!) So this would be the first item that is not OOAK. Lime green is such a difficult color to capture on film. :(

Title : Indian Dancer
Status : Available
Price : USD12.00

Title : Red Gypsy
Status : Available
Price : USD12.00

Both the earrings above looks so... indian! The Red Gypsy is actually made with upcycled toggle loops. Two sets of the toggles I bought have faulty sticks (broken/faulty loop) and since I have a pair, I decided I should not waste it. It's the same toggle I use for my bracelets.

And finally, bookmark restock! Since I sold most of my supplies not too long ago. The first one is inspired by Nite Owl from Watchmen :D

Title : Nite Owl
Status : Available
Price : USD12.00

Title : I Dream of a Garden
Status : Available
Price : USD12.00

Title : Kiwi Flower (bookmark)
Status : Available
Price : USD12.00

The Kiwi Flower bookmark was like a 'preliminary round' for the Kiwi Flower bracelet, an experiment with colors to see how they will look with the final product. If you're interested in buying them both as a set, contact me and we could discuss a discount! :D

Army Of Colors

My personal army of colors! I went to supply up in the weekend and to summarize in one line, I won't be going into the city in a long long time. *is also very broke* These are my current supply of 6mm glass pearls. I had SO MUCH FUN color coordinating them it was no joke. There's just some wonder when you see them arranged nicely like this instead of in a mixed up chaos. I have more colors for my 8mm pearls, but I just haven't got the chance to photograph them yet. Maybe next time!

Last week was pretty hectic, and I took some time to pack and mail the things that was sold during the sneak attack. Let's just say I was unprepared... very unprepared. But I managed to mail out the packages in the weekend so let's hope they will see my little handmade precious in their mailbox in 2 weeks time! :D

I didn't make a lot during the week, these are all I made but I had a lot of fun making the bracelets! (three column blog coming soon I promise) Also, due to recent raise in postage for domestic mail, the prices currently (for Malaysia only) does not include shipment until I find out how much it is. Which should be soon, I hope.
