Back from San Francisco!!

I am finally back from my San Francisco trip!! It was tons of fun, and I will have more photo updates later. For now though, I am trying my best to catch up with orders and other stuff. So please bear with me as I work through them. I'm still suffering a little from jet lag, which I hope will pass over soon.

However, I will keep the sale running for a while longer in Skyejuice, as thanks for your patience! Enjoy it while it last! Which isn't going to be any longer soon I think.

Sanlitun Bar Street

Next stop, the Sanlitun Bar Street in Beijing! The bars are along a lovely lake, and I can tell you that the bars on this street are rather high end. I took a peek at one of their menus hahaha. I mostly took pictures of the beautiful lake though.

Freaky Food in China

I grew up understanding that Chinese people (particularly in China) will eat anything that has their backs facing the sky. I knew they have some pretty weird eating habits. So I took every chance I can get to take photos of weird food when I was in China. Most of these are street food!

Freshwater lobsters and mantis shrimp.

I think those are octopi on the left? Then eels, and eel/fish skin.

These are some sort of chrysalis? Silkworm chrysalis perhaps.

Scorpions on a stick!!!

Seahorse and... starfish on a stick?

Last but not least, snake wine!!

Tianjin Ancient Culture Street

Third city of the trip - Tianjin! We're only here for one day, much like the Chengde trip. And we're only visiting 3 places, most of which are about shopping than anything anyway. This was the first stop - Tianjin Ancient Culture Street. The second stop was a food street in Tianjin as well, and it wasn't as visually interesting so I didn't take a whole lot of photos.

Of course, there must be street performers on cultural streets! However, these two weren't really good because they change pose once in a while, they can't stay still for long.

These little piglets straddled on top of dinosaurs amused me!

Chengde Mountain Resort

Our trip was not just within the Beijing area, but it included Chengde, which is north of Beijing beyond the Great Walls. (it was Mongolian land) As well as Tianjin. (which I will cover in the next post) The Little Potala Palace mentioned before was in Chengde, but there is also another attraction in Chengde - The Chengde Mountain Resort.

Unfortunately, it was not the peak period of travels, and most of the place was covered up for repairs and maintenance and whatnot. So the views weren't that great, it was a bit of a disappointment really. But I still took some decent photos to share here. :)

In the first photo up there is the famed Sledgehammer Peak, it's a natural rock formation! :D

Little Potala Palace

Little Potala Palace, or also known as Putuo Zongcheng Temple is located in Chengde. It's modeled after the Potala Palace in Tibet, so looks a little different from the normal chinese buildings. :)

Guozijian - National Academy

Next up is Guozijian! Or better known as the National Academy or Imperial Academy in China. It's like the university back in the olden times hundreds of years ago. Only it's no longer an academy now haha. It is still a symbolic place for students though.

Qianmen Street pt2

Part 2 of the Qianmen Street posts!! More on the shop lots along the main street.
