Wild Hoofbeats

Since I was young, I always have an adoration to horses. The novel "Black Beauty" had always been one of my favorite books growing up. Although my love for horses had somewhat dimmed down as I grew up, having found many many more new loves in my life hehe, I still find them very beautiful. :)

I was ecstatic when I found Wild Hoofbeats! A photography shop full of beautiful photographs of wild horses, just stunning. It is truly a wonderful sight to see these horses running freely in the wild like that, very different from the horses in stables. (which are the only horses I ever really seen) The foals are so cute too, don't you agree? :)

How Steve Jobs Affected the Handcraft Industry

I'm sure everyone had heard of Steve Job's passing two nights ago. It was a sad sad day, and a great loss to many. His work and his words inspired many, and affected a lot of people's lives. Without him, there will be no Apple, without Apple, there will be no Macbooks, iPods and iPhones. And certainly if there weren't Macbooks, iPods and iPhones, these handmade artisans wouldn't exist...

So much class and style! Steve Jobs not only changed the technology industry, but he affected the handcraft industry as well. We may had lost a legend, but his work and legacy will live on. You will always be remembered as a legend, rest in peace Steve.

Sweet Bestiary

Ever since I got Mr Bear, I've been looking at a lot of clay miniature sculptures. Planning to get another one so soon? Perhaps not, as I need to control my spendings!! (who doesn't?) Sweet Bestiary is among some of my favorites so far that I had found. Maybe it's just Mr Bear affecting me, but I love her bears too! Ursus the polar bear is just too cute! Of course, her bunnies are equally adorable, and she has a variety of other products too such as brooches and art dolls. What I love about her shop is her consistent style and clean photograph, which makes her stand out. Maybe one day... I will get something from her and expand the growing family of little handmade sculptures on my shelf. :)

Daily Colours

Had you got your daily dose of colors yet? :) From Daily Colours, the subject of Saskia's photography are very simple - Half a pomegranate; one pinecone. But it is the way it was photographed, the color coordination of the background with the subject, the gorgeous lighting, and the off-center composition of her photographs are some of her strong points that make her photography stand out from the rest. It is her unique style!

I found Carousel Ink about a week ago, and I am absolutely in love! Those leggings, those leggings!! I want one please!

I also love their photographs, how they were taken to all look like they are from a carnival or a circus, very suiting to their shop name. Now this is what I call strong branding! The masks added a really nice, mysterious and playful tone to their shop. :) Oh did I mention I want those leggings? I want those leggings!!

Artist Feature - Shinichi Maruyama

I truly believe that art exist in endless form, and in my opinion... water is one of the most difficult subject to capture on photo. However, it is not a problem for Shinichi Maruyama. The free form of water and the mixture of simple monochrome colors, just creates such a quiet harmony to his pictures.
