Phew, things are finally settling down now and I can finally update my blog a little bit. Last month was crazy busy, and not just with the handmade biz too. I was away for a week long trip in Osaka and Kyoto, Japan during the middle of the month! Then after that, I got gobbled up trying to catch up with orders since I decided to not put my shop on vacation. And when I had a little bit of time to want to announce the winner of the giveaway, my domain expired!! If you were here the couple of days it happened, you might have seen weird images on my blog everywhere. It's even more difficult when my domain host is away on a holiday too, sigh.

Holiday Rejects Giveaway #1

It's been a while since the last rejects giveaway, and I'm bringing it back once every 2 weeks for the holiday season, woohoo! Every giveaway will last for 10 days, and I have a little bit of everything planned for everyone. Looking for something as a stocking stuffer but low on cash? The first giveaway is for these two lovely pendant necklaces to go with your fall outfit. The first one is the bumble bee necklace, which has some tiny bubbles visible inside the resin. It happens sometimes, and it sucks, but at least I can keep them for giveaways when it does.

The second pendant necklace is with these lovely yellowed autumn leaves, which is totally perfect for fall. There is a bubble visible on the lower left edge, and there is a cluster of tiny bubbles deeper in the resin as well. (which is really very tiny)

June'12 Rejects Giveaway

It's time for another rejects giveaway! Every month I will hold a giveaway to give out one or two failed jewelry pieces - mainly resin pendants with impurities, obvious bubbles, resin seeping into the paper etc, even designs that I decided that I did not really like. Some of these mistakes are not very obvious and it can only be seen up close. So they can be worn without much worries!

This month, I am giving away these two beauties! A hand drawn leaf pendant, and another hand drawn raindrops over waves pendant.

There is nothing wrong with the green leaf pendant, I just feel that the design is unsuitable for the shop. Same with the raindrops pendant. But the raindrops pendant has resin leaked out on the top side. However it is not very obvious when worn since the resin is clear. These two designs are OOAK!!

May'12 Rejects Giveaway (Ended!)

It's time for a rejects giveaway again! I know I was supposed to do it monthly, (so guilty) but so many things had been keeping me so busy that I keep forgetting to take photos of the pieces. So to compensate, I will be giving away 1 piece that is not a reject this month!

To promote the new additions for the chinese button necklaces, I am giving away the original white chinese button necklace and a blue scales hand drawn pendant. (a reject)

I didn't coat the blue scales pendant enough and resin soaked through and stained/darken the bottom part of the paper. It's barely noticeable though!

February'12 Rejects Giveaway

Remember the Failed Specimens post I posted a while ago? Well, I had gained and collected a few more rejects ever since. It comes with the territory I guess, hahaha. But this time, these rejects are not as bad as the ones I showed you before. However, I still feel that they are not good enough and should not be listed in the shop. At the same time I do not want to waste them either. So what should I do?

Maybe I should give them away!

And that was how the monthly rejects giveaway came to be. Every month I will hold a giveaway to give out one or two failed jewelry pieces - mainly resin pendants with impurities, obvious bubbles, resin seeping into the paper etc, even designs that I decided that I did not really like. Some of these mistakes are not very obvious and it can only be seen up close. So they can be worn without much worries!

This month I am giving away a rectangle raspberry pendant and a raindrop oval pendant!

The raspberry pendant has a huge bubble at the lower left corner, if you look hard enough you will be able to see it. And the raindrop pendant... well I decided that the design might not work for my shop. So this is an OOAK pendant!!

Giveaway Winner and Other Things

First I want to apologize for the lack of activity for the last week. I had planned for quite a few updates, but all those were blown to oblivion when I got the news of my grandmother's passing. Everything is over now, the extensive Taoist funeral ceremonies are done, and I finally found time and energy to update the blog again. Hopefully everything will settle back in pace soon.

Super Busy!!

Probably one of the longest pearl clustered anything I've ever done! And I'm doing not one, but three! Eep!! I sure hope I can get it done in the weekend.

Aside from working on orders, I've also picked up a logo design job, volunteered to complete a children's storybook free of charge for a non profit organization, have new pieces to work on for an upcoming convention, and a roleplay community to run. Oh yes, did I mention too that I'm running a totally fabulous giveaway valued at $260 total for Team Etsy Malaysia? Yeah, you should totally check it out. :)

I just absolutely HATE IT because instead of getting a list of shops in the area I am searching, I get regular search results of listings of shops in that area. So instead of having 10 shops listed on one page that I can glance through to find interesting ones, (and no repeats) I probably get lesser shop results now with the shops with hundreds of listings dominating my search. I really hope they change this while the series is on hiatus on my blog... :(

Big Box of Free Goodies!

Yesterday I got a pleasant surprise in my mail - the box of goodies I won from Sampler Village in a giveaway!! :D My first giveaway win woohoo! Even in it's sealed state, I could smell a faint fragrance coming from within. It is a "Be My Valentine" sampler box, and it arrived just in time for Valentines, how awesome is that?

When I popped open the box, I found this inside. How thoughtful and pretty. :) The smell is even stronger now!

And here it is, the moment of truth. These are all the goodies I found inside, yes... ALL in that red colored box! :D I haven't count or went through every single item yet, there is just so many!! Lots of soap samples and soy melt tarts though, and most in the shape of hearts, d'aaaw~

You know I felt like a little kid opening presents on their birthdays when I was opening this box, hehehe. Just so excited!!

I will write another post later when I get around to take better pictures and go through all the items. :)
