Some of my Favorite Brooches

Ever since I lost my brooch by leaving it behind two years ago in San Francisco, I had been looking for the perfect brooch to replace it. My red coat collar looked sad and empty without one. Unfortunately that seller I bought from at Renegade Craft Fair does not sell online, if she does I just can't find her even through Google. So I thought hey, it would be fun to get a brooch on Etsy! And here are some of my favorites that I found.

Today was a strange day. I got my first non-paying buyer on Etsy late last month, and after 2 convos and 9 days of wait later without any response, I canceled the sale. I relisted the bracelet and guess what? She came back and bought it again, but paid immediately this time! It boggles my mind trying to figure out what's up.

New Facebook Page

I finally got off my lazy ass and made a Facebook fanpage! Reason being - after trying, I still couldn't 'get' Twitter. I'm not saying I'm ditching my Twitter account lol, just maybe won't rely on it so much for promotions and stuff. I'm an avid Facebook user myself, (addicted to the games LOL) so I decided, the heck I should just try it out and see if it's more fun that way. I'm thinking of having FB-fan promotions and monthly giveaways for my fans, we'll see. :) Please like me so I can have a custom url soon too! Thank you oh so very much~

Of course, all of their names are based on real flowers. :) Hibiscus was easy, what with it being Malaysia's national flower and me drawing it constantly for artwork competitions when I was little. I am particularly fond of the Bells of Ireland earrings though! Thinking of mixing in more colors for future pieces.

I only made 2 bracelets this week, couldn't concentrate with my dizzy spells so can't spend long amounts of time on them, had to take a few breaks.

Pretty straightforward concepts, the Primary Colors one really reminded me of carnivals or circus!

I attended a Shop Critique virtual lab session on Friday morning, (should be Thursday evening/night for the Americans) and I asked about my pricing concerns, since a handful of people had told me that I am underpriced in the forums in last week alone. Although I missed the majority of my critique... :| (I was not in the room at that time, had to be away for a bit and thought they would check if I am there or not before they start) I felt quite bummed, only heard the last 1 minute of the critique. Oh wells. Anyways, the conclusion is... instead of raising the prices for the items, I had decided that I should omit free shipping altogether. BUT... not this month. I will be offering free shipping for the entire period of July for the Christmas in July sales, but after that a shipping price will be implemented.

So it is now or never!

Weekly Word Picks - Sponge

The pass two days was so busy I barely had time to update the blog, and I was busy feeling burnt out and miserable during the weekend to do much. But this totally made my day on Sunday night!

My Dream Room treasury made it to the Etsy front page!! :D It was soooo unexpected and I was so surprised! I made that treasury on a whim on Friday evening and even didn't bother to contact all the artists because of my moody self. I thought for sure that treasury was forgotten in the humongous sea of Treasury East. (I swear that place is FLOODED) So I didn't bother about it for a while. Until it reappeared before my eyes!

Am still excited about it eventhough it was already two days ago, hahaha. But anyways, back to the post's main topic. This week's word feature oh yes! I had a very very dear friend of mine do the picking this time, and she picked...

Her rationale for choosing this word : I was trying to squeeze my brain for a word and thought how a sponge could absorb it all back in.

While making this treasury, I find it so difficult to make these treasuries without jewelry in them. Do jewellers like to add strange tags to their pieces? Or are there just too many jewelry shops on Etsy? Ahaha. So, any suggestions what word I should use next for next week?

I Still Can't Believe It

It's already over 14 hours, and I still can't believe it! Over the last 24 hours I had a total of 9 sales on Etsy! Not one, not two, but NINE!!! For the past 20 days since I listed my first bookmark on Etsy, I still haven't had any sales up until today. (or more accurately, yesterday night when I'm asleep!)

Normally when I turn on the PC at work in the morning, the first thing I do was to check my e-mails. And there was this list of 'Notification of payment received' titled e-mails. At first I even suspected they were spam mails! Until I saw the Etsy order confirmation ones! My first sales... *wibbling in joy* This calls for a celebration! And I think I will get some yummy Starbucks tomorrow morning yumyum ♥

This feat was all thanks to The Handmade Movement!! For I was their target in a 'sneak attack' on Monday! You should check out their blog to know more about this sneak attack. But I am forever grateful to them for featuring me! All the crews and members of the Sneak Team, you have my eternal gratitude.

I also managed to snatch a slot for a treasury earlier in the evening! I was stalking the treasury, checking the tab every few minutes, waiting for the number to fall eventually until it is below 333. My friend commented it is like keeping an eye on the share market, lol! But enjoy my less colorful theme for today, it is a little bit goth, a little bit enchanting. Dark and beautiful stuff. Shinies For Your Ear

The long awaited post for earrings! Personally, although my ears are pierced, I don't wear earrings. I don't know, I guess I'm just not that girly yet, plus dangling earrings will get in the way of my headphones. Strangely enough, even though I don't wear anything in my piercings they never closed. Although I do poke through them eventually more so out of curiosity than making sure they don't close, ahaha.
