I'm sure everyone had heard of Steve Job's passing two nights ago. It was a sad sad day, and a great loss to many. His work and his words inspired many, and affected a lot of people's lives. Without him, there will be no Apple, without Apple, there will be no Macbooks, iPods and iPhones. And certainly if there weren't Macbooks, iPods and iPhones, these handmade artisans wouldn't exist...

So much class and style! Steve Jobs not only changed the technology industry, but he affected the handcraft industry as well. We may had lost a legend, but his work and legacy will live on. You will always be remembered as a legend, rest in peace Steve.

Light Leaks - Prints and Things by Caryn Drexl
Because it is the month of Halloween, I will be picking a series of photographers that has a spooky/ surreal/ supernatural style to feature this month. :)
When I first saw Caryn Drexl's photography, which you can see in her Etsy shop Light Leaks, I was completely blown away! Sometimes it's not so much the beauty of the photograph, but the idea of the photo itself.
This photograph "Remains of the Day" was the one that attracted my attention when I was fooling with Taste Test one boring day. Who knows that something as simple as a braid coming out of a girl's mouth could be so off-putting for the mind and so beautiful at the same time?

Around the World - Romania - Baghy
I love looking at sketchbooks and journals, and certainly wished I could collect them all. But alas, I am not too much of a sketcher or jotter. :( It doesn't hurt to look though, right? (and dream) Right now, I am loving what I see on Baghy. I've seen my share of leather journals on Etsy, but few had such darling and pretty drawings on them! I also love the belt buckle safety strap for some of the designs, although I can imagine that it will be troublesome to flip it open when you need to, but it is extra security for more private stuff such as a diary. Maybe, just maybe, when I finished all my current blank journals, I'll get a leather one just to pamper and congratulate myself. :)

Sometimes when I'm stressed out from work, I like to look at cute/funny animal pictures. They almost always make me feel better.

New! Art and Vintage Art Pendants
So finally, here they are! For the past few weeks I had been crunching these out gradually. They are art pendants, new additions that I am going to add into the shop. :) There are mainly two types, this is the hand drawn one using fade and water proof ink on scrapbook paper.
And this is the second type, cut directly straight out of a vintage storybook. They are not reprints, they are illustrations from a page in a vintage book itself. So stock is limited for some, some are even OOAK since I couldn't find a second book!
I will list them into the shop gradually throughout the next week, so if you have a pendant you want, you better watch out for it! ;) The dancing fox one is one of the OOAK pieces... at least for now. I'll try to look for another copy of the book to make more if possible.

Around the World - Romania - Laura Galic
One type of seller that I always admire on Etsy are those that design and make clothes. (maybe because I don't know how to sew?) Laura Galic from Romania, is one of them, and her clothing designs just completely blew me away! There is a certain sophistication and a daring flare to her designs, the strong silhouettes and sometimes unisex designs makes them great for office work, especially for those ladies of higher authority. I am absolutely in love with that jacket with the frilly tail.

The Secret Life of Toys
Had you ever wondered what does your toys do when you are at home? Had you ever imagine what would their lives be like if they are like us? Marcos from The Secret Life of Toys shows us a glimpse of their world through his lenses. I just love the way he poke fun at some of the pop cultures, like Yoda giving English lessons and Spiderman's web developing career. The things that they would do when the economy is in recession. Just pure genius!!
